I've noticed that no new members have joined the forum since over two months ago...and while I don't exactly expect a glut of new members every month, it does seem a little bit suspicious (especially considering that the subscription feature stopped working at roughly the same time).
I also notice that one of the comments on the guestbook asks "how can i become a member?"
This made me wonder: Could it be possible that there's something wrong with the forum that's preventing people from registering right now?

I wondered if there was maybe a bug or something...because I haven't seen any new anythings lately, not even Guestbook notifications. I'm going to have to see if Brian can page Henry about the issue.
Very strange...but would explain why it's been so quiet if there are bugs lurking. |

Hmm... well, if anyone else has the entire forum subscribed (ie: Brian) you would have noticed that it hasn't sent an email since March 11th. I don't know why, we didn't change anything. Since Brian handles the customer service, he can probably figure out how to ask wtf. I have tried all of the other email options the forum has, all of them time out when trying to send an email except the one we always used, CDONTS.
Also, the last guestbook email sent was March 12th, and it uses a different method of sending email. Definitely needs a call in to Customer Service. |

It's been too long to keep quiet that e-mail sending hasn't been working at SquareOneTV.org for some time now. This includes forum registration e-mail. If you wanted to sign up for the Forum, just go through the registration process and then send me an e-mail at brian@squareonetv.org. I will then activate your account.
I spotted Lori's request on the queue from months ago and set it through. Welcome! Sorry, I had no intention of making the forum private! |

I am attempting to go through some of the backlog/queue of pending members, looking for what appear to be "legit" requests to join. (If a username and E-mail look like they were carefully chosen for use in such a forum, it's a sign someone was probably trying to join.)
Some requests have been in there awhile, so if you tried to join and couldn't get it to process, please either E-mail us, or post a note in the Guestbook to let us know, and we'll be sure and hand-process member requests.
Apologies if there has been a delay - with multiple (we're talking THOUSANDS) of fake accounts and bogus registrations sitting in the backlog, we can't just let everyone in, or it'd be overrun with spam and this forum would quickly become a trap for scam and spam botters. |

Pretty soon, we'll cross 9,000 failed requests (not including those I deleted long ago)! Maybe there's something that can be done.
Also, the send e-mail button does not work. The weakness is if we disable e-mail features, we allow automatic registration and there is no way to stop the bots from taking over. Use Private Messages instead, and... hope they log in.
Other than that, everything functions normally. |
